Visiting an old age home.
Last week I decided I'd go to this old age home near my house. I mean I've lived here for almost 10 years but never once visited the elderly living there.
I went for a brief visit and I was moved by how lonely but loving all of them there are! I want to go again, but I'm scared I'd run out of things to say or that I might burst into tears or something.
I just wanted to know what people generally do when the meet the elderly at homes? Should I say jokes and keep it light or should ask them what is running in their mind and about their worries? I just don't want to spoil their evening thats all

I don't know. I feel sorry for them as the environment looks to be so unstimulating and clinical. I can't take big doses of it, especially after I heard and elderly man I was near to say "please kill me". If you can enrichen their lives I'd say it would be great.
